SME sector in Russia is described in terms of key figures (SME categories, number of SMEs, distribution by sector) in brief, and results of two rounds of monitoring organized by the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) jointly with the Ministry of Economy.

Source of data: Federal Statistical Service, Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, surveys of SMEs and regional chambers of commerce.

The monitoring is performed by means of regular surveys among SMEs and CCIs, as part of the assignment given by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The results of the monitoring may serve as inputs for the assessment of the current situation in SME sector, changes at SMEs and in the business climate.
